Very recently I came to know about a local news of my city and it was really very

interesting. It was about a new health mall coming up in my city. I was amazed by

this idea because it was one of its kind and I had never heard anything of this sort.

The mall had a gym, a swimming pool, sports equipment store, healthy café and

training sessions on health and fitness.

I saw and heard about it on TV and radio. A lot of people in my town are already

talking about it. Virat Kohli (you may change the name) inaugurated the health mall

and his involvement excited all the locals and created a lot of health awareness.

People were interested in this news for reasons not one but many. First of all, the

idea was different and unexplored. The facilities of the mall were free for fifteen

days. People suddenly became health conscious and enrolled in the gym because

the offers were attractive. Inauguration by a celebrity also created interest and

attracted the crowd.

I have visited the mall once and it was really worthy of appreciation. I really liked

the restaurant. It served sandwiches, smoothies, shakes, soups and salads. I feel that

this news had created a lot of awareness among people and people will now make

an effort to live a healthy life.

Let me talk about one such local news that I came across in the local newspaper last week which was about the construction of a park for the city dweller. Actually, in my locality there is no park however there is a vacant plat that people use to dump the garbage.

At the same time, you can see stray animals here all the time. This plot is more like a scar on the face of my locality. This place not only stinks but also spreads diseases.

But the locality administration has now decided to transform it into a public park. It would definitely help to make my locality clean and green. In addition, it would allow the community members to socialize as we see in the evening as well in the morning time, people like to visit parks, where they sit together and talk. It would be a wonderful place for old people to sit together to play cards, gossip and enjoy other activities. Similarly, it would also provide a safe playing area for children. In my area, most children play on the streets which are quite dangerous as there is always a risk of accidents.

But, a park would offer them a safer place, where they can play. In fact, as per the news, the new park would have swings and rides to allure them. Last but not least, people these days suffer from many health concerns but in the park, they can go for a walk and practice yoga which really benefit the people and would ensure well- being of the community members.

Conclusion
As per the news story, the construction work would start by next month and I just saw that this one local news of my area has bought a huge smile on the faces of local residents.

• So, today I would like to talk about a kidnapping and murder that happened in my city.

• It was around 20th December when a 5 year old boy was kidnapped from outside his house.
• The parents got a ransom call after kidnapping after which they informed the police.
• The kidnappers told the parents about the location where they had to drop the money on a particular date.
• The police had laid a trap to catch the kidnappers but they managed to run away with the money.
• When the news about kidnapping became public there were a lot of protests in my city as people become worried about the safety of their children.

Who was involved?

• The front page of our local newspaper carried only the news about kidnapping as everyone wanted to know whether the young boy has been rescued or not.
• Sadly, 10 days after the kidnapping the police discovered the body of the young boy at the border of our city.
• I think almost everyone in our city cried for the young boy that day.

And explain why people were interested in it?

• The case was solved after 3 months when police were able to trace the mobile phone records of the kidnapper, who was a next-door neighbour.
• Later, he confessed to the crime and told the media that he did the murder because the boy had identified him as the neighbour uncle who had a big dog. He was scared to get caught.
• This was very sad news for our city.

• I found this news very interesting because GurdasMaan is my favourite singer.
• He is a multifaceted personality.
• He is a singer, actor, director, and a lyricist as well.
• He writes the lyrics of his songs himself.
• He has also acted in many Punjabi movies.
• All my family members also love his songs.
• When we go out anywhere together we play his songs in the car.
• All his songs have messages.
• He even performs in stage shows.
• He always has his tambourine in his hands when he performs.
• There is a village near my hometown where he comes every year and performs for charity.
• I went there last year.
• It was an electrifying experience.
• This time he will be coming to my home town.
• He is coming next month to raise some money for the rehabilitation of the youth of Punjab villages who have become drug addicts.
• I would like to meet him and get his autograph and thank him for the commendable work he is doing for the people.

Although certain people were not happy with it, the majority of people had welcomed this news.

Because due to the rampant usage of plastic bags, our city is in dire straits.

Firstly, the clogging of drains is a pressing problem in our city. The biggest reason for this issue is plastic bags. Because as we all know, plastic is flexible, and it takes ages to decompose itself. Hence when it enters the drains, it makes its permanent place over there. Every year tonnes of plastic makes entry into various water bodies through the drainage system of cities.

Secondly, the city looks filthy due to the plastic bags. As winds are common in our area, all nooks and corners look messy with the spread of polythenes.

Lastly, the usage of plastic has declined the soil quality too.

And, if we continue using these bags, our future is in jeopardy.

All these problems require one solution, and this is a complete ban on the usage of polythene bags.

That is why people of my city have shown tremendous interest in this local news.

People have an interest in this news because of the disastrous repercussions of using old vehicles on their health and well-being.

 There is no denying this conviction that with time the engines of motor vehicles lose efficiency and create more pollution. Due to that, the health of the general public goes for a toss.

Moreover, the purchasing power of people has increased manifold in the last ten years. And the number of vehicles plying on the roads has increased appreciably.

A blanket ban on the usage of vehicles more than a decade old could bring some respite to the city dwellers. I am fond of reading the newspaper on daily basis. Two days back, while I was reading newspaper, I read a news of my town. After, going through the article, I came to know about the construction plan of new parks in my city.

Furthermore, It was stated that 5 new parks will be introduced. Also, the motive of this plan is to have lot of plants and trees in the area. In this way, people will get place to perform exercises and do jogging.

Also, new developments were decided which involved – herbal juice corner, healthy snacks and smoothies and fruits shop. Additionally, the construction of all the parks will be done keeping in mind about all the age groups. According to my perspective, it is a great plan to bring awareness among people.

I was very happy after reading the domestic news of my city. Moreover, I was glad to know that initiative is taken by the residents of my area. Everyone decided to come together and give their contribution in completing this plan.

People were interested in this domestic news because they know the importance of trees in the environment. In my city, there are problems like, traffic congestion and pollution. Additionally, there are many industries and very few trees.

However, there are small parks in every colony but they are not so large and do not have much trees. Due to this reason, people always wanted large parks with greenery.

Also, this will bring awareness among people to visit the park daily. Moreover, they will get motivated to exercise regularly.

Therefore, new parks will allow people to stay fit and healthy. This piece of local news has become an interesting discussion among people.

I like to read the newspaper from the hard copy. I know that we should all

save paper and try to read the news from the phone applications but

I think both are important. Any happenings around us and far from us is

bound to have an influence on us sooner or later. We should be updated

with both the kinds of news.

Yes, our world is connected in unimaginable ways and therefore anything

that happens in one country will have an influence on other countries for

sure. An example can be the share market. Whenever something bad

happens anywhere in the world then the share prices topple in most other

countries.

I think different people would be fond of different types of news items.

However, most people would be interested in the current affairs and sports

news. News related to politics and celebrities are also popular among many.
