However, they have come back into the tournament in style as they registered a 155-run record win against Hong Kong in the second group game. However, in their first Super Four game against arch-rivals India, they registered their most important win as they sealed another closely fought encounter by five wickets. Afghanistan, on the other hand, have been the surprise package of the tournament. They defeated both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in their opening two games to top their group and enter the Super Four stage of the competition. However, they were defeated by Sri Lanka in their opening game of the Super Four.
